The Lafayette UCG local church council met on July 23, 2000 at the Kubiks' home. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson, Jennifer Swenson at 7:20 p.m. Aimee Zahora served as Recorder.
The location of services for Trumpets was discussed. It was suggested that we meet in Crawfordsville and combine services with Terre Haute. Jane will check into availability of the Holiday Inn, and Chris will check into availability of a room at Wabash College.
Both the April 23rd and the May 20th meeting minutes were approved unanimously.
Ken reviewed the current budget. See the attached three (3) pages.
Katherine Rowland, Jason Crane, Sarah Crane, Guy Swenson, and Victor Kubik are sitting on the committee for this program. The committee will meet at the Peine picnic on Saturday evening after the meal to discuss details of what will be sent to the individuals who subscribe to the Good News locally. Victor would like to have something mailed out to the subscribers by Labor Day. He also mentioned that he would like to mail something out on a quarterly basis. Ken added that $1000 has been budgeted for this program and that amount is available immediately.
George Williamson bought a 3/4 inch tape recorder to preview the tapes for the Cable TV program for quality assurance purposes. George is asking the station to consider UCG –Lafayette for a Sunday morning time slot as it becomes available. George is not in favor of breaching the contract prior to the close of its term. Bev requested that we pray that a Sunday time slot become available.
Tom moved that we change the fiscal year to July 1st, and extend the current year by 3 months to accommodate the change. Ken seconded the motion. The motion was passed unanimously.
Ken motioned that Jane purchase a $20-$25 first aid kit using the hospitality fund. Cherie seconded the motion, and it was approved unanimously.

Tom suggested driving to South Bend, IN for white water rafting. The prices are reasonable for this activity ($10 for 6 rides). Tom suggested doing this activity on August 20th.
Ken will work with Tony to create a sign-up list for clean-up duties for weekly Sabbath services.
Jennifer Swenson, Bev Kubik, Cherie Zahora, Michelle Grovak, and Jane Pacelli will be going to scout out information and location possibilities for future church building/rental needs.
The next council meeting is scheduled for Sunday, September 10th. The meeting will take place at the Peines' home and will begin with a pitch-in dinner at 6:00p.m.
Bev motioned that the meeting be adjourned. Ken seconded the motion, and it was passed unanimously at 8:58 p.m.
